COLLECTION Cartier Santos Carree Burgundy Lacquer ‘Spider’ Dial ref. 2960

Cartier Santos Carree Burgundy Lacquer ‘Spider’ Dial ref. 2960

£0.00
sold out

Perfectly beat up and ready for the next adventure… This steel model is a mechanical variant of the Cartier Santos that was produced through the Quartz era. The case measures 29mm x 41mm and the bracelet has removable links but fits up to a 7.25 inch wrist. The best part is the wonderful original burgundy lacquer dial but it has a hidden dark side… The lacquer has cracked and in natural light you can see the unusual form of patina with fine lines or ‘spidering’ often caused by quick temperature variation. We have always been interested in tropical dials, patina, spidering because of the unusual and interesting dials that can be created from the ageing or natural elements. Many of these dials would have gone back to the Cartier service centre and been replaced for a ‘service dial’ however we like it just the way it came!

Case size: 29mm

Movement: Automatic

Year: Circa 1980’s
